Sorry, I just had to use the geeky title.
Last year my wife Karen started a blog right around the time we found out that she was pregnant. It was mainly just a nice way for the family to follow along with all of the developments of our rapidly growing new addition. However, she recently became a lot more active in her blogging and it became apparent that I don’t necessarily share ALL of her perspectives on our journey through life together.
She’s currently a stay-at-home mom, and as a result, spends a lot of time with other new moms she’s met through various mom/baby activities. Since it’s a bunch of mommies hanging out with their offspring blathering on about their new lives as mommies, their view of the world is decidedly skewed to that of being a mommy.
I have the unfortunate job, of having a job, to ensure that our little family remains solvent as long as possible with my wife out of work raising our kid(s?). And by “work” I mean the paycheck kind; I’m well aware that it’s a lot of work to take care of the baby all day! So aside from being a male, which clearly predisposes me to different views anyway, my experiences are often very different in our child-rearing journey because I’m just not around as much.
Now, to be clear, I’m in no way suggesting that there are any faults in my wonderful wife. She truly is an outstanding mother and wife, and I’m so incredibly grateful for everything that she does. I love her dearly. She merely has a different perspective – sometimes.
So bear with me as I slowly put this place together. I’m sure it should be easy since if you’re reading this you’re likely the only one
.
Not so!
